PROFILE: Stefania Aulicino, President of Capital Link, has her MBA from the University of Chicago plus is a seasoned business owner herself. Over the last 10 years, 80% of Capital Link’s clients CLOSED DEALS WITH BETTER TERMS THAN THOSE OFFERED IN THE ORIGINAL TERM SHEETS. Prior to her MBA and entrepreneurial career, she was a Vice President with Bear Stearns’ Corporate Finance group, Vice President of corporate lending for Citibank, and Vice President/Head of the Credit department for Chemical Bank. She has addressed numerous forums including Inc. magazine’s Conferences on Growing the Company, The Annual Conference of the Council of Growing Companies, and the American Institute of CPAs. Ms. Aulicino is featured in Inc. magazine’s video entitled, "Raising Capital: How to Finance Your Business", plus created/directed a program on entrepreneurial development at the University of Chicago’s GSB for 13 years.
Joining Ms. Aulicino is Edward Paisley, Managing Editor of The Daily Deal, the premier publication chronicling private equity deals globally. Mr. Paisley has been with this financial services news organization since its startup in February 1999. Prior to launching The Deal LLC, he was the Asia editor and again, part of an initial (Asian) launch team, for the Institutional Investor in Hong Kong from 1994 to 1999. ED PAISLEY WON THE 1997 OVERSEAS PRESS CLUB AWARD for one of his cover stories during this period. Earlier work experience includes time with the Far Eastern Economic Review and the American Banker newspaper. Mr. Paisley received his MA in East Asian History from Georgetown University and his BA in American Studies from George Mason University.
This event is the third and final presentation in the Finance Roundtable series this year on private equity/venture capital. The first, GE Capital in 2/02 discussed this field as an asset class from the perspective of an investor/lender. In 6/02 Allied Capital looked at this sector from the eyes of the private equity/venture capitalist. Now in this presentation, it’s the company’s turn.
